Wonder How the The Autism Helper Came to Be…
Meet Sasha!

Sasha Long, BCBA, M.A., is the founder and president of The Autism Helper, Inc. She is a board certified behavior analyst and for over 10 years she was special education teacher. Sasha now works full time as a consultant, writer, and behavior analyst. Sasha also travels internationally as a speaker and consultant providing individualized training and feedback to parents, educators, therapists and administrators in the world of autism.

“In year 3 of my teaching career I almost left special education. Everyone struggles with something, but that year I felt like I struggled with everything. I couldn’t understand how I could be working so hard and not feeling like I was seeing the big results of that work. This is when I start to turn things around.”

What kind of resources are in the
The Autism Helper Professional Development Membership?

Professional Development Training Videos

Each month, you will receive access to value-packed training videos.

4-8 training videos a month

set up in a short yet actionable formats

content available in audio only, captioned versions, or written transcription

access to these videos for as long as you are a member

These videos create a plan for your classroom. Instead of trying to do all the things at once, focus on doing a few things well and progress from there. These videos give you the steps and training to do that!

Staff Training

Having a team that works collaboratively is essential to success in your special education classroom. However, staff training is barely (if ever!) taught in teacher programs. Managing and leading your team is a skill that can be learned and developed. Each month, learn new strategies on how to work with your staff.

Class Structure

There’s more than meets the eye to well-run special education classroom. The routines, schedules, and visuals have a clear purpose and role. These may not be new concepts to you, but there is always a way to level up how you structure your classrooms. Learn about how to set up your independent work system so it runs all year, how mini schedules prevent problem behavior, and so much more!

Special education teachers have two jobs: educator and curriculum developer. Selecting, developing, and implementing the appropriate educational activities for each of your students is overwhelming (to put it lightly). Planning and organization is key. Set your students up for success by developing effective plans for establishing systems, collecting data, and running instructional groups.

Behavior & Communication

Everything else in your classroom can be perfectly setup but problem behavior can throw it all for a loop. Each month, let’s breakdown the process of causing lasting and meaningful behavior change. From pairing to token economies to replacement behaviors, let’s make Applied Behavior Analysis work in your classroom!

New Resources for you to Choose From Each Month

Every classroom is so different so – of course – the needs of each classroom will be so different! To make sure you get the resources you need, you’ll get 3 credits each month to download digital resources. You can choose from a selection of materials based on the topics of each month. Resources will be available for immediate access and will remain in your Member Dashboard. Credits can also be rolled over if unused!

A Community

Get access to a members only Facebook group where we will be collaborating, celebrating, and trouble-shooting together. Sasha will host an exclusive Facebook Live each month to answer questions and brainstorm with members. The Facebook Live will also be recorded and saved for future access.

Sasha has benefited me beyond my expectations and has helped me stay focused throughout the roller coaster of emotions that comes with teaching. Her tools and personal engagement has helped transform me from being overwhelmed and stressed, to focused and proactive.

Lisa from Chicago

I love your enthusiasm and joy for organization – me too!! I love your positive go-get-em spirit. You seem to have so much energy and it shows. I am not sure how you do it but I am so happy you do.

Kelly from Atlanta

Sasha worked with me as we broke down students’ behaviors. Her energy and optimism cleared the way for me to build confidence and experience success in the classroom. Sasha is the teacher I would like to become. I appreciate all of her support as I continue to grow in this field.

Shelby from New York

How is this different than your TpT store?

This membership is SO much more than access to some digital resources. Resources are a tool and in this membership we will show you the best and most effective way to utilize these tools. The training videos were created specifically for this group. This membership is a hybrid of Sasha’s Professional Development Workshops, a consultation, and the TpT store. Also, we give access to a selection of resources each month to ensure you are getting materials you don’t already have!

Can I receive CEUs for watching training videos?

Yes, you can get 4 CEUs after 4 months of watching the training videos. CEUs will need to be requested after 4 months and are only available at that interval. School districts differ in what they will accept as a CEU. It is up to each member to confirm that CEUs from The Autism Helper, Inc. will be approved by your school district.
